Eric Melin and Bill McShane of Ultimate Fakebook on this weekend’s reunion show

Long-running area power-pop trio Ultimate Fakebook called it quits back in 2003, after three LPs and a series of frustrating label issues. Since 2008, though, the band has been playing occasional reunion shows, and last year they released Daydream Radio Is Smiling Static, a digital collection of unreleased cuts and b-sides. This Saturday, October 29, they’re throwing down with the Revenge of the Nerds Halloween Ball, an eight-hour extravaganza of bands, contests, and general rock ‘n’ roll revelry. We spoke with singer and guitarist Bill McShane and drummer Eric Melin via e-mail about the festivities.
