Elbert ‘Big Woody’ Davis Jr., blues musician, killed in high-speed chase with police

Blues musician Elbert “Big Woody” Davis Jr. died in a fiery crash Monday evening after a high-speed chase with police after being accused of shooting and stabbing a county administrator.

The story in the Topeka Capital-Journal is a bizarre read, with the chase beginning after Osage County director of economic development Stephanie Watson showed up at the sheriff’s office to report that Davis shot and stabbed her. Who knew a blues musician could have a dark side?
