Eat This Now: Cookies at Sweet Kiss Brigadeiro

These cookies are less like a sweet kiss and more like a giant smooch! Sweet Kiss Brigadeiro bakes large, filled cookies in classic and creative flavors. 

But what is a brigadeiro?  

The Brazilian sweet is a truffle, known as brigadeiro. These bite-sized balls come in a variety of flavors including milk chocolate, dark chocolate with salty pistachio, Oreo, strawberry, and many more. While they’re available on their own at the sweet shop, the brigadeiros add a luscious texture to the center of Sweet Kiss cookies. Flavors such as Chocolate Chip Brigadeiro, Cheese and Guava, Churro, Strawberry Cream, S’mores, Almond Croissant, and more are available on a rotating basis.

The cookies themselves are firm to hold but slightly chewy inside and have a varying level of sweetness that depends on the specific flavor. Filled varieties, like the one pictured at the top, burst with melty brigadeiro goodness.

The mother and daughter team–Regina Antunes and Jessica Harris–rely on a family recipe that has been perfected through generations. After an expansion in 2024, Antunes and Harris operate two locations. One is on the Plaza at the Made in KC Marketplace, and the other is in Lee’s Summit. The Lee’s Summit location not only serves brigadeiros and desserts but also coffee drinks, cocktails, and wine.
