Drink This Now: Aaron’s Craft Root Beer at Servaes Brewing Company
Aaron’s Craft Soda from Servaes Brewing Company is a must-try drink for those whose New Year resolutions may have included a reduction (or ceasing altogether) of alcohol consumption.
Servaes is a local brewery and taproom located on Johnson Drive and Nieman Road in downtown Shawnee, Kansas. Starting as a hobby by Courtney Servaes, brewing quickly became a family affair. Wanting to share in the passion, Aaron grew to be quite interested in craft sodas and began brewing his own flavors on-site with his mom.
When visiting Servaes, Aaron’s Craft Root Beer can be purchased on tap and enjoyed in the taproom, while other canned craft soda flavors can be purchased individually or in a four-pack.
I ordered the root beer from the tap, sans ice, as there is truly no other way to drink a craft root beer. The carbonation level is much more subdued than most, making it much easier to drink. It has a classic and smooth flavor that cannot be beaten.
As my wife and I sat and enjoyed our drinks (we couldn’t resist ordering a flight of craft beer as well), the employees on shift were getting set up for music bingo. Servaes hosts a variety of events throughout the week, such as music bingo and trivia nights. It is a fantastic destination for those who may want a fun Friday night out with a bar-like experience but want the ability to choose a delicious craft soda over an alcoholic beverage.
Servaes Brewing Company is located at 10921 Johnson Drive in Shawnee, KS.
