Halloween is my favorite time of year. I spend ages obsessing over costumes, Halloween Spirit makes its appearance, and I get to hit up every store in town for spooky Halloween decorations (or, as we refer to them in our household, “decorations”).

The best part of this holiday for me, however, is the music. I have scads of music that relates to Halloween, and for the past few years, I used my radio program, Sunglasses After Dark, to showcase it. Well, that ended when I graduated, so I was at a loss as to what to do this year.

Easy solution: this blog. Each and every Friday until Halloween, I will put up a portion of the four-part Halloween mix I made. It started out as nearly twenty hours of music, movie trailers, and sound clips, and got whittled down into a four and a half hour mix. Play this at your party, work, or whatever. I tried to shy away from overplayed tunes, and stuck to Halloween stuff only (no “Bad Moon Rising,” thanks). Enjoy part three. The track listing’s after the jump.
