Double shooting leaves one dead on Swope Parkway Sunday
A double shooting Sunday has left one person dead and another hospitalized.
Police officers were directing traffic at Swope Park — near 63rd Street and Swope Parkway — when they heard several shots fired and witnessed shots being fired from a northbound vehicle at another.
A passenger exited one of the vehicles and collapsed on a sidewalk. The vehicle continued north, stopped at a curb at 60th Terrace and the driver got out and collapsed. The car firing shots fled the scene.
The driver died at the scene. The passenger is in stable condition at a local hospital. Police described the shooting victims as black males in their early
twenties.
