The T-Bones have conducted on-field promotions between innings for years, mounting 90-second sponsored events as mini-entertainments for fans. “I love the Cabela’s Dummy Launch,” says Colin Aldrich, the team’s director of promotions. “That one’s a favorite.” He’s talking about a game in which a fan with a big net attempts to catch a hunting dummy launched from an air cannon. Other promotions have included sumo wrestling in padded suits and the “frozen T-shirt race,” in which three kids race to unfold sponsor T-shirts that have been soaked and frozen, pull them on and hustle over the finish line. Now the T-Bones are seeking fan-created promotions for the coming season. The winning submission earns a fabulous prize, to be announced. Your proposal should involve a maximum of four participants and take less than 90 seconds to conduct. Also, it should not endanger participants or spectators. E-mail entries to caldrich@tbonesbaseball.com by March 16.
