Director Gorman Bechard on his Replacements documentary, Color Me Obsessed

The new Replacements documentary, Color Me Obsessed, has been stirring up quite a bit of buzz lately, not just because of the high quality of the film and what it brings to the table in terms of revelations about the legendary Minneapolis quartet, but because it features none of the band’s music. None of the Replacements’ members appear in the film, either. The film becomes more about the band as a force and influence than as a group of Midwestern guys making music. You can peep the film for yourself when it screens at Liberty Hall this Friday, March 9, at 10 p.m. Director Gorman Bechard was kind enough to talk with us about the film via e-mail.
