Dinner and a Movie
Unfortunately, images of Keith Coogan cannot be found in the online archives of Tiger Beat, but the teen star of yesteryear, who appeared in many a sitcom and two ABC After School Specials, is still in Hollywood trying to make a go of it. Coogan is best remembered for playing pimply dorks in Adventures in Babysitting (1987) and Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead (1991). See both of these beloved flicks tonight at the Bulldog (1715 Main, 816-421-4799) when the Crossroads bar and grill hosts its Tuesday double feature. “My favorite thing about our movie night is the conversations that my customers get into. Sometimes there is heckling and jeering, but on some nights the discussions are almost heated,” bartender Luci Hillemann says. The movies start at 9 and 11 p.m., with $5 appetizers and happy-hour pricing all night on drafts, wells and house wine. The kitchen closes at midnight, and the friendly staff takes the empty plates so that no one feels compelled to throw them against the wall and proclaim, “Dishes are done, man.”
Tuesdays, 9 p.m. Starts: Feb. 16. Continues through Sept. 1, 2010
