Detectives investigating homicide in the parking lot of Arrowhead Stadium following Chiefs-Broncos game

Kansas City Police Chief Darryl Forte announced Sunday evening on Twitter that detectives are investigating a homicide in the parking lot of Arrowhead Stadium.
“Detectives investigating a homicide at Arrowhead Stadium,” Forte tweeted at 7:06 p.m. “Two suspects in custody. Will update as info becomes available.”
No other details were given. As of November 26, Kansas City police counted a total of 97 homicides in KCMO.
The Denver Broncos defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 35-28 in an afternoon game at Arrowhead.
UPDATE 8:31 p.m.: Forte tweeted: “Investigation is on-going. Victim transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. He died after struggling with two subjects.
“Incident did not involve any fan rivalry,” Forte added.
UPDATE 9:12 p.m.: “Multiple parties are being interviewed at police headquarters. Exact cause of death undetermined. Victim died while struggling w/2 subjects,” Forte tweeted.

The homicide investigation comes on the first anniversary of the Jovan Belcher murder-suicide. Belcher shot and killed his 22-year-old girlfriend, Kasandra Perkins, at their home, drove to Arrowhead and committed suicide in front of Chiefs personnel outside the team’s practice facility.
