Details on Jack in the Box coming to KCK

The Jack In The Box hamburger chain that’s coming to Kansas City, Kansas, could be open before 2011.

“Assuming everything goes to plan, we would expect to be open by the end of the year,” says Jack in the Box spokesman Brian Luscomb. (Jack In The Box junkies will no longer have to drive to St. Louis for their fixes.)

A space for the freestanding restaurant in the Prescott Shopping Plaza Center (211 South 18th Street, right off of I-70) was approved by the city’s planning commission and the groundbreaking is likely for early this spring.

“It’s our strategic goal to grow Jack In The Box through new and contiguous markets. We’re now in Oklahoma, in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, and we have a strong presence in St. Louis. Kansas City made a lot of sense,” says Luscomb.
