Delorean reschedules North American tour after being kidnapped in Mexico; cancels Kansas City date

Poor Delorean. The Spanish electro-pop quartet that has brought joy to dancing hordes with its upbeat, ’80s-fused energy was held captive by the notorious Mexican drug cartel Los Zetas earlier this month, and have rescheduled most of their North American tour as a result.
It almost sounds like a joke: Spanish dance band gets kidnapped by famous Mexican drug lords. What’s not funny, though, is the part where the members were detained in a hotel room for a 30-hour period while Los Zetas demanded five million pesos – approximately $386,500 – for their ransom.
The band had this to say about the experience on their Facebook page:
The band has been touring in support of their recent album, Apar. While the majority of Delorean’s North American tour dates have been rescheduled, they seem to have scrapped the Kansas City stop. The band was originally scheduled to play at the Riot Room on Saturday, November 2.
