Deadmau5

Simply put, Deadmau5 is DJ Joel Thomas Zimmerman and an oversized, gem-encrusted mouse hat that shoots lasers from its eyes. (Well, that and a set of speakers.) A DJ is nothing without his stage presence, and Deadmau5 brings with him on tour his seizure-inducing light show: a three-sided setup covered with 75 tiles of LED screens. The Canadian electro guru recently was the house artist for MTV’s video awards, so even your mom knows the name of the guy behind the glowing mouse ears. (If she’s like my mom, she’ll pronounce it dead-maw.) Zimmerman’s handle is actually a tribute to a mouse that died inside his computer. He had the corpse framed, and now it’s on his wall. Zimmerman tried to DJ under the handle Halcyon411, but friends and strangers kept referring to him as “that dead mouse guy.” It’s understandable.
