Deadman Flats

Whiskey and women: They’re what country music is all about. Giving a twangy twist to the finer things in life, Lawrence band Deadman Flats serenades fans with bluegrass ditties that celebrate cheap beer and fast cars with seedy charm. Infusing their songs with crass humor and punk fury, members Alex Law, Hank Osterhout, Matt Stambaugh and Pat Watt proudly revel in their musical redneckery, crafting tunes that the band describes as “acoustic death-metal cow punk.” On tour supporting its album Read ‘Em and Weep, the band is spreading its Pabst Blue Ribbon-flavored sound across the nation. Fans of Split Lip Rayfield, take heed: These local string shedders just might be your new favorite bluegrass rebels.
