David Melton accused of sexually abusing a foster child

A 15-year-old boy told police that he awakened to his 49-year-old foster dad playing with his penis before taking the boy’s genitals in his mouth.

Jackson County prosecutors charged David Melton with two counts of felony statutory sodomy in the second degree yesterday.

According to police reports, Melton was a foster father to the unnamed boy, who called his caseworker to get out of Melton’s house.

The boy, who was in the process of being adopted by Melton and Melton’s boyfriend, told police that the incident was only the most recent bit of sexually abusive behavior.
