David Matthews’ seventh DUI gets the 27-year-old a year in prison

When you hear that a guy’s racked up seven drunken driving convictions — three of ’em in a seven-month period — you’d think that the guy is going away for a long, long time. You’d be wrong.
David Matthews has managed to collect seven of ’em in just 27 years of existence. His collection began nine years ago, but he’s managed to get his three most recent ones in seven months. Last Friday, Matthews received a maximum sentence of a year in jail, which will run consecutively with two other convictions in Shawnee County.
