David Lindley
It’s hard to believe that stringed-instrument guru David Lindley began as the guitarist front-and-center on seemingly every ’70s California rock album, from Warren Zevon’s to Jackson Browne’s. That was then; he’s gone on to master every stringed instrument and style in the world — and perhaps a few other planets. Parody Hall veterans still rave about his legendary shows during the peak of Lindley’s El Rayo X days (the album and the band). These days, he’s traveling with percussionist Wally Ingram, a Horde-tour veteran who shares Lindley’s passion for all things eclectic. And as if that weren’t enough, Lindley shares the bill with Adrian Legg, an English stringed-instrument master who can, and does, play anything with tuning pegs. On these shores, Legg’s known as “the English David Lindley” — in Britain they turn it around.
