David Byrne

David Byrne needs no introduction — even if the 56-year-old’s interest in digital technology and futuristic marketing strategies bring him more notoriety than his music does these days. Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, the ex-Talking Heads vocalist’s first collaboration with Brian Eno since 1981’s My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, was initially available only at Everythingthathappens.com. The record resembles new-age Nine Inch Nails or Bowie’s electronic work circa Y2K, meaning that Byrne’s keening vocals and hiccuping melodies mesh well with the album’s dank production. This current tour is billed as “Songs of David Byrne and Brian Eno” — while the latter man won’t be there, the set list will include Eno-produced Talking Heads rhythmic excursions (“Crosseyed and Painless”) and hits (“Once in a Lifetime,” “Life During Wartime”).
