Dance for Obama

It’s almost O Day! On Tuesday, Barack Obama gets sworn in as the nation’s 44th president. To celebrate that fact, folks around the country are attending fancy dances this weekend. Tickets to some of these tuxedo-mandatory events cost $150. Lucky for local Obama supporters without a lot of cash flow, the Jackson County Democratic Committee is holding the more economical Red, White and Blue Collar Inaugural Ball. It takes just eight bones — or $15 for a couple — to join the revelry tonight in the party room at the Westport Flea Market Bar & Grill (817 Westport Road, 816-931-1986).
