O’Fallon loon Cynthia Davis‘ chicken coops are empty.
After receiving a complaint, animal control officers ordered Davis, a Missouri state representative, to get rid of the 20 hens and chickens from her backyard, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Davis’ 24-year-old daughter, Cathryn, had been raising the birds — Snowflake, Buffy and others — for months in cages at the family home, behind the family’s Christian bookstore at 1008 Highway K (this explains so much).
Officers told Davis’ daughter in mid-April that the birds needed to go away, but 10 birds were still there on Monday. They’re gone now.
