CVS, free your rubbers

Calvary Temple Baptist Church’s Rev. Eric Williams really is one of our favorite people for his compassionate efforts to reach out to people infected with HIV and AIDS and stop the spread of the diseases. Now, Williams and his Calvary Community Outreach Network has signed on a petition to get CVS to make condoms easier to get by removing them from locked cases in all of CVS’ pharmacies. CVS claims they’re locked up to keep them out of shoplifters’ hands, but the petitions says they’re making them harder to get for the more embarrassed among us.
The Kansas City Star did a little informal poll and found that condoms were mostly locked up in poor parts of town with large African-American populations.
With all the bad news about STD rates in KC and the surrounding counties, we need all the help we can get.
