Cursive

Next time you’re in Omaha, Nebraska, take a moment to stop and listen. Hear that giant rush of air? That’s the sound of a city collectively breathing a sigh of relief now that Cursive has found a way to successfully follow up 2003’s The Ugly Organ. After nonstop touring in the wake of that masterly collection, the members of the Saddle Creek mainstay vanished (not counting frontman Tim Kasher’s side project, the Good Life) for close to two years. Now they’re back, armed with a nationwide tour and another groundbreaking album, Happy Hollow. Relax, Omaha — you’ve got another year or two before they’ll have to do it again. <
