Cure-baret

Of course you care about the fight against breast cancer. But do you care enough to watch a dazzlingly entertaining and provocative variety show featuring some of the city’s most beautiful and talented female burlesque, belly and aerial dancers? If you’re committed enough to make that sacrifice, make a date for the Cabaret for the Cure benefit, showcasing performances by Sinsations Burlesque, Luna Breeze, Troupe Duende, Burlesque Downtown Underground, Voler–Thieves of Flight, and the Kansas City Society of Burlesque. Also: drag queens Kitty von Minx, Coco L’Amour, Ruby Magnolia, Nik Nightengale and the fabulous Miss Kitty. An art show and silent auction begin at 7 p.m., with the cabaret acts starting at 8:30 in the Skylight Room at Crosstown Station (1522 McGee). Admission costs $20 at the door, and all the proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen Passionately Pink for the Cure Fund. See Kansas City Cabaret on Facebook for more details.— Grace Suh
