Creative Neighbors

Offer a year of free studio space to a bunch of creative people, and who knows what might happen. A show opening tonight at Paragraph + Project Space (21-23 East 12th Street, 816-221-5115) takes a look at the results of such an experiment. Eyes of the World draws attention to the community of artists occupying the studios at Urban Culture Project, spotlighting the divergent views and practices as well as the mind-meld that can result from working in close proximity for an extended period. Participating artists include performer and digital filmmaker Audra Brandt, filmmaker Heather Brown, interdisciplinary artist Brent Cox, installation artist Justin Farkas, multimedia artist Rachelle Gardner, photographer Robert Heishman, painter Erica Leohner, printmaker Jessica Owings, painter Lee Piechocki, costume designer Julie Potratz, multimedia artist Allan Winkler and metal sculptor Graham Zuelke. The reception goes from 6 to 9 p.m.; the show runs through April 4.

Fri., Feb. 20, 6-9 p.m.; Thursdays, Saturdays, 12-5 p.m. Starts: Feb. 20. Continues through April 4, 2009
