Cowboys vs. Redskins Preview
The Dallas Cowboys have been on quite a run since week one. Winners of six straight, the ‘Boys not only sit atop the NFC East, but also boast the NFL’s best record. To get to this point, Dallas has ridden running back DeMarco Murray, who paces the league in rushing yards through seven weeks and may even be in position to break the single-season rushing record. Week eight could present a bit of a roadblock, however.
Dallas faces long-time rivals, the Washington Redskins, in a heated Monday Night Football showdown. On paper, this is an easy win for the Cowboys, but Washington’s elite run defense could make things interesting. After all, if the ‘Skins stuff Murray and put the game in Tony Romo’s hands, it is possible the matchup could shift in Washington’s favor.
The bitter rivalry and the game being in prime time is enough to bring up demand, regardless of how this one shakes out, though, as Dallas Cowboys tickets are currently $138 on average and a get-in rate of $36, according to Razorgator.
That’s quite a deal for Dallas fans, as they are likely going to be able to see their team crush an inferior rival at home. That being said, even if this one ends up somehow being an edge of your seat thriller, fans are getting their money’s worth.
This one should be in the bag for Tony Romo and company, however. Even if Washington does stifle Murray, which is unlikely by itself, the Cowboys still have winning matchups on defense and in their pass attack. Romo has been pretty darn good through the first seven weeks, while he is a pretty safe bet to take advantage of an awful Redskins pass defense.
On the other side, Washington is bringing in Colt McCoy as their starter on the road, so the Dallas defense won’t exactly have the worst matchup going into this one. If reality meets the paper in this one, the Cowboys could enjoy a nice home blowout win and march into week nine at 7-1.
