Copacetic Kickoff
There are good reasons for Chiefs fans to hate AFC West opponents Denver and Oakland. There are the memorable defeats at the hands of the Broncos, and the Chiefs share a long, violence-filled history with the Raiders. But San Diego? Despite playing two or more games a year for several decades against the San Diego Chargers, familiarity doesn’t necessarily breed contempt. Most years, San Diego represents just another two games on the schedule that are not held up as major events. But today’s noon Chiefs game against the Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium (1 Arrowhead Drive) represents a critical matchup for both disappointing teams. NFL rules mandate a winner for the division, so today’s winning team may represent the AFC West in the playoffs. Tickets cost $54 to $103. Call 816-921-9400 for details.
