Of course, an innocent chance meeting on an airplane led to Ryan, a KU alumni, meeting assistant coach Kurtis Townsend and a kind offer of free tickets to the sold-out Sunflower Showdown. I’m sure Townsend would extend the same courtesy to anyone he sits next to on a plane trip.
