Prog-rock band Coheed and Cambria deviate a bit from its usual bag of mystical themes on its new album, The Color Before the Sun. This time, frontman Claudio Sanchez drew inspiration from his own life rather than the science-fiction creations of his mind — for the first time, fans will have an intimate insight into his life.

Tonight, the band hosts a meet-and-greet at Vinyl Renaissance in Overland Park in support of The Color Before the Sun, which sees national releasing today, and to celebrate the expansion of the record shop. Later, the band plays a free show after the Royals game at KC Live Block at Power & Light, as part of Afentra’s No Costume Party.

Vinyl Renaissance, Overland Park, is located at 7932 Santa Fe Drive. For more details on the in-store, go here. For details on Afentra’s No Costume Party, featuring Cohered and Cambria, MS MR, Jack Garratt and Thank You Scientist, go here
