Coheed and Cambria

Coheed and Cambria seems set to inherit the legacy laid down by Rush. Of course, there are the fairly obvious vocal similarities between Claudio Sanchez and Geddy Lee that have led many to wonder, Is that a chick or a dude singing? Coheed and Cambria, following in the steps of its prog-rock forefathers, has also taken the concept album and made it something that even Tolkien would consider long form. Rush’s 2112 may have a seven-movement song, but the story of Coheed and Cambria’s characters — a couple at the heart of a battle over mind-wiping, implanted viruses and
Armageddon — has played out over the course of five albums. The band plays the second part of this epic in its entirety at the Midland. To make things even more complicated, it’s actually Coheed and Cambria’s debut, The Second Stage Turbine Blade.
