Cocktails for CASA promotion heats up at Meat Mitch
For fans of cocktails and supporting charities, the perfect opportunity to satisfy both urges has arrived at Meat Mitch.
The Leawood, Kansas, barbecue staple is donating $1 of every “Smash and Burn” cocktail to CASA of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties through August 31. Meat Mitch is also partnering with Holladay Distillery and Kansas City Bourbon Club, with Holladay matching the total donation at the end of the donation period.
With chapters located around the country, Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a nationwide nonprofit that helps children who are in the foster care system due to abuse and neglect navigate their cases and help them through the court system, advocating on their behalf. Due to government cuts this year, CASA lost national funding and grants equating roughly $100,000 so far.
With a new opportunity to give back, drinking the “Smash and Burn” cocktail introduces patrons to a concoction of Holladay Soft Red Wheat Bourbon, smoked fresh lemon juice, brown sugar “burnt syrup”, and mint.
If you’re unable to visit before August 31, you can still donate to CASA through their website.
