Classical guitar guru Anthony Glise brings his Nova Project to Record Bar
In the classical guitar world, strummer Anthony Glise is kind of a big deal. You can check out all the honors that Glise has racked up stateside and in Europe at his Web site. I met him back when I was living in St. Joseph — Glise splits his time between there and France. Just about every year, he organizes an international classical guitar festival in St. Joseph that brings musicians and listeners from around the world to his hometown. Recently, his attention’s been focused on the Nova Project, a classical-meets-prog rock experiment. Glise and co. will be jamming on Saturday night at the Record Bar. The 6-9pm matinee show costs $8 and the first 100 people get a free CD, Live at Cafe Acoustic. Cafe Acoustic, by the way, is a cozy, little musicians’ hangout in St. Joe that’s totally worth checking out if you’re in the neighborhood.
