Claire McCaskill wants to talk

Stimulation update: Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill is in town on Wednesday to promise that help’s on the way.
This from her office: “As our nation faces its most serious economic crisis in decades, Congress and the President worked together in order to pass the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. This recovery package will energize and uplift our state’s economy, and I want to talk to you about the many exciting opportunities for Missourians: thousands of jobs for our state, improvements to our infrastructure, much needed aid for small businesses, help for our schools and neighborhoods, and assistance for homeowners, to name a few.”
Anyone on McCaskill’s mailing list might want to double check the location — it’s moved from its original place, the senator’s office reports, due to overwhelming interest.
Money talks at noon on Wednesday at Blue River Community College in Independence, in the Arts & Sciences gym, 20301 East 78 Highway. Doors open at 11 a.m. Registration isn’t required but the senator asks that people sign up at her Web site.
“I look forward to seeing you there,” she says.
Yeah, and we look forward to the stimulus package actually working.
This just in from McCaskill’s office: So many people have signed up that they’ve cut off registration; if you haven’t signed up already, you probably won’t be able to get in. Sorry about that.
