Oh, no, they d’int! The New York Times reported this week that Claire McCaskill, everybody’s favorite tough-as-nails, ball-bustin’, iPad-wielding senator, fought to keep the Democratic National Convention from coming to St. Louis in 2012.

The Times‘ Caucus blog reported Monday about Charlotte, North Carolina,

landing the DNC, which commuters and downtown workers will soon learn to

hate. The piece about what made Charlotte more viable than the other

contenders also included information from anonymous Democratic sources that McCaskill wasn’t at all thrilled by the idea of fighting for attention

in her home state during what is expected to be a bare-knuckled fight to

retain her seat.
