Christopher Sanders accused of killing Sherilyn Hill, hiding her body in a stairwell of the Royale Inn
Christopher Sanders is accused of beating Sherilyn Hill to death at Royale Inn before Thanksgiving. Sanders, 35, allegedly hid Hill’s body in the stairwell of the motel near Paseo and Independence Avenue. Hill’s body was discovered December 7.
Here’s what court records say happened. A witness told police that she was with Hill and Sanders and a couple of unknown black men a few days before Thanksgiving. She said Sanders rented a room at the motel, and she and Hill went to room 206 with Sanders to smoke crack cocaine. Sanders allegedly wanted one of the women to trade sex with him for money. Court records say Hill became upset with Sanders for not giving her crack cocaine and pulled out a pocket knife and threatened Sanders. But Hill put away her knife and started smoking crack.
The witness said Sanders asked her if she was ready, which she took to mean smoking crack. She said yes, and Sanders kicked Hill in the side of the face with a “martial arts move.” The witness told police that Sanders kicked Hill several times in the head, and Hill began to snore. The witness yelled at Sanders to stop, but he didn’t, court records say, and he proceeded to tie up Hill with a bed sheet. The witness ran, asked a passer-by for help but didn’t call for help.
