Christopher Lee’s “Symphonic Metal” Album

Christopher Lee – the 87-year-old classically trained British actor better known as Saruman the White in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Count Dooku in Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith – is recording a symphonic metal concept album about Charlemagne.

Let’s let that sink in for a minute.

Based on the historic conquests of the first Holy Roman Emperor (and Lee’s own family tree), Charlemagne: The Sword and the Cross includes reading narrating singing from Lee, as well as “metal” orchestration from Italian composer Marco Sabiu. The album is due for release on March 15.

Watch out: Christopher Lee is about to go medieval on your ass.
