Chris Biggs named Kansas Secretary of State
After a month-long wait, Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson finally named Chris Biggs Secretary of State this morning.
Biggs, a Democrat, had been serving as Kansas Securities Commissioner.
In February, Ron Thornburgh stepped down as Secretary of State and left for the private sector as senior vice president of
sales and marketing of NIC, an Olathe, Kansas-based company that builds and maintains government web sites.
Biggs will fill out Thornburgh’s term, which runs out January 10,
