Chiefs Tickets Averaging Under $90 For Season Opener
The Kansas City Chiefs became the surprise breakout team in the NFL last season going from a league worst 2-14 in 2012 to 11-5 and a playoff spot. The Chiefs will hope not to regress the other way as they open the season against the Tennessee Titans at Arrowhead Stadium. While many fans across the country are excited for the start of the NFL season, that has yet to translate for secondary market prices for Kansas City Chiefs tickets.
According to TiqIQ, the average price for Chiefs vs Titans tickets is currently just $89.15. That average is 38% below the season average for home games on the Chiefs schedule this season. The low average price likely has more to do with the opponent than a lack of excitement around Kansas City. The Tennessee Titans schedule is currently the only one in the league with multiple road games sporting an average price below $100. It could be safe to say not many opposing fans are expecting a lot from the Titans. Depending on the health of Jake Locker at quarterback, Tennessee could be a very high variance team this season.
The get-in price of the game is a low $26, but there are still three games with a less expensive low price. Games against the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers all have tickets available for $21 or less.
After the game, the Chiefs will be on the road for two weeks for games in Denver and Miami. With the Broncos once again expected to be the top team in the AFC and the possibility of the Dolphins improving, a win against the Titans could be important. That could especially be the case when Kansas City’s next home game will come against the New England Patriots, which is followed by a road game in San Francisco.
