Chiefs Tickets 7% Above Average For Pats Game

The Kansas City Chiefs rebounded with a big win last week, recovering from an 0-2 start to enter Week 3 with a 1-2 mark. Now they get the New England Patriots at home in what could be a make or break game early in the year. Add together the hype, intense matchup and the fact that this showdown is featured on Monday Night Football this week, and it’s understandably one of the best NFL values for Week 4. In Kansas City, there will be a premium for this game. Chiefs vs Patriots tickets have an average price of $146.14 with a $45 get-in price. That price is 7% above the season average for Kansas City Chiefs tickets at Arrowhead Stadium this season.

While Chiefs fans will have to pay up to see Tom Brady, they’ll also be paying to possibly see star running back Jamaal Charles back on the field. However, this doesn’t appear to be the same ol’ Tom Terrific, and that could be a really good thing for KC. Brady and co. have struggled on offense through the first three weeks, as the passing game has put up just three touchdowns and the offense as a whole has leaned mostly on the ground game. That’s equated to a lot of touches for Stevan Ridley and should make for a big role yet again as he goes up against KC’s 23rd ranked run defense.

While little of that sounds amazing for Kansas City fans, the Chiefs have at least been stingy in the red-zone, as they’ve allowed zero rushing touchdowns so far in 2014. Despite being under-manned thanks to injuries on defense, Kansas City has remained fairly impressive on that side of the ball. If they’re going to pull out the big home win and get to 2-2 this week, that will need to be a running theme that continues on through Monday night.

It probably all comes down to how well the Chiefs can execute on offense, however. Alex Smith has rebounded nicely from a poor week one showing, but has the challenge of taking on New England’s top-ranked pass defense. Taking care of the ball while also finding ways to make big plays could be key.
Smith is a huge factor as the game manager, but the biggest key has to be the availability and role of Jamaal Charles. An absent or limited Charles makes life infinitely easier on Bill Belichick’s Patriots, so merely having him on the field could be huge for the Chiefs. If Charles shows up and KC manages the game, they should have a solid shot at squeaking out the win and getting back to .500.
