Chiefs Tickets 17% Above Average For Game Vs Rams

The Kansas City Chiefs have a chance to stay right in the middle of the AFC West title race. If they can beat the St. Louis Rams this week and the Chargers upend the Broncos on Thursday night, they’ll suddenly be half a game out of the top spot. It’s true that a lot has to go right for KC for them to steal the division in 2014, but with a steady pace through their schedule, they can still at least lock up one of the two AFC wild card spots. Making sure that happens starts this week by taking care of business at home against an inferior opponent.

An in-state Missouri battle brings this game to a premium on the secondary market as the game is 17% above the remaining season average for Chiefs tickets at home. The average price for Chiefs vs Rams tickets is $137 on the secondary market with a get-in price of $50. Needless to say, fans are getting a pretty nice deal for what could be a potential blowout win.

Of course, blowout wins are a lot easier said than done. That might especially be the case against this pesky Rams team that upset the Seattle Seahawks in week seven and seems to hang around in every game. While St. Louis is pretty competitive, the Chiefs still very much have the upper hand here. For one, playing at Arrowhead Stadium is never easy, while the Chiefs have stepped up their game defensively as of late. That could make life difficult for Austin Davis on the road, which should impact the effectiveness of the Rams’ offense, overall.

On offense, Alex Smith guides an underrated unit that should have no trouble passing the ball against a pretty shaky St. Louis pass defense. Running the ball could be the lone issue, as Jamaal Charles can win any matchup but the Rams have been specifically stubborn against the run lately.

KC doesn’t need to dominate on the ground, though. They merely need to run well enough to sustain balance and keep the Rams guessing. If they can do that and avoid turnovers, that should be more than enough to get them back up over .500 on their own field.
