Chico, Jack Russell terrier, hanged in Independence

The cold-blooded killing in this city isn’t limited to just people. Just ask Brenda Looney. Her 1-year-old Jack Russell terrier, Chico, was hanged to death in her front yard in Independence over the weekend.

The Kansas City Star reports that Looney “suspects

someone who has a personal vendetta against her.”

I’d say. I hate to blame the victim here — because I really feel bad for Looney, who no doubt went through a traumatic experience finding her dog “hanging about 2 feet off the ground” — but this part of her story really bugged me.
