Charges dropped in Lady Tigers’ emasculating beatdown of male cheerleader

No charges will be filed against two University of Missouri women’s basketball players accused of beating up a male cheerleader during a late-night scuffle, according to a report citing a Boone County assistant prosecutor.

Senior forwards Amanda Hanneman and Jessra Johnson have been suspended for a week now after news of the fight.

Since then, the cheerleader, Justin Short (also suspended), has reportedly said he did not want to file charges. The Columbia police declined to pursue the charges due to inconsistent witness statements and the fact that alcohol was involved.

News reports say the indefinite suspensions continue for all three. Updated: The women have been reinstated.
