CBE Hall Of Fame Classic Travel Guide
The Championship rounds of the annual CBE Hall of Fame Classic will be taking place Monday and Tuesday evening at the Sprint Center here in Kansas City. The opening matchup take place at 6:00PM Monday night and will be the Arizona State Sun Devils against the Maryland Terrapins, immediately followed by the Alabama Crimson Tide against the Iowa State Cyclones. The winners will face off the next night at 8:30PM while the two defeated squads will play in a consolation game beginning at 6:00PM.
The Cylcones are the early favorite as they are currently the only ranked team of the group, currently 14th in the nation, according to the Associated Press poll. Nonetheless, Maryland has received several votes for consideration into the Top 25 and both Arizona State and Alabama are itching to prove they are worthy of national recognition.
Fans looking to see their team play at the Sprint Center can check out Hipmunk for flights to Kansas City for any day over the next week. Hipmunk has the best flight deals available, no matter if you are coming from Tuscaloosa or Baltimore. In addition, you can find cheap hotels in Kansas City Missouri with rates beginning for as low as $99 per night for Sunday through Tuesday while CBE Hall of Fame tickets start at just $40.
Everyone who comes out to the CBE Hall of Fame Classic will surely see some entertaining action. Last year, the Wichita State Shockers beat the BYU Cougars 75-62 in the championship game. The Shockers went on to go 34-0 during the regular season and conference tournament last season, entering the NCAA Tournament undefeated and with a #1 seed. After beating Cal Poly 64-37, they lost in heartbreaking fashion in the third round of the tournament, falling to the eventual national runner-ups Kentucky 78-76. Fans of Arizona State, Maryland, Alabama, and Iowa State can only hope that their squads have similar success in 2014 as the Shockers did last year.
