Cash hidden in sock again fails to escape police notice

An attempt at nonchalance by a man suspected of robbing a Church’s Chicken was no match for the trained eyes of a Kansas City police officer, according to prosecutors.

Police apprehended the suspect a block from the restaurant minutes after the robbery took place Wednesday night. An officer observed a man matching the description of the robber attempt to discard an object — a gun, upon closer inspection — behind a tree, prosecutors say.

Keenan A. Moore, 17, faces robbery, assault and weapons charges in relation to the incident.
