Capybara is playing SXSW’s official showcase!

Congratulations, guys: Capybara will play in South By Southwest‘s official showcase this year! Here’s what the band says:

Around this time of year, we and our musician friends near and far collectively pour one out over the inevitable receipt of the SXSW rejection letter. It doesn’t mean you can’t play the festival. It just means you’re not on the short list for endorsed showcases and free stuff. You’re not, you know, official.

Imagine our surprise (like, stare at the computer screen in awe for a solid minute) when the words “pleased to invite …” appeared in our e-mail this year.
