Capybara brings its recent reunion to the local stage this weekend

There’s been a lot of talk about the reunion of local pop darlings Capybara, the kaleidoscopic quartet signed to Kansas City’s the Record Machine. After the release of their debut album, Try Brother, in Spring of 2009, the local (and national) blogosphere and word-of-mouth buzzfeed couldn’t seem to stop talking about the melodic, harmonic talents of Capybara. Then last year, the band went on a temporary hiatus, though plans for a reunion were never certain. Well, that time has finally come, and Capybara will return to the local stage this Saturday at RecordBar, alongside the Oriole Post and Minden. We caught up with singer and songwriter Mark Harrison about their hiatus (and return), and what we can expect from Capybara down the line.
