Cans of Boulevard Heavy Lifting IPA hit store shelves next week

The wait for cans of Boulevard beer is almost over. Boulevard’s Heavy Lifting IPA is set to hit store shelves in the metro area on Monday, March 30, meaning Boulevard cans will soon be in your hands. Yes, cans!

Heavy Lifting (6.2 percent ABV and 80-plus IBUs) is going to be a year-round release based off of Boulevard’s Tasting Room Mid-Coast IPA. Boulevard ambassador brewery Jeremy Danner describes the new brew on the brewery’s blog as having “massive end of boil hop additions of Topaz, Bravo and Centennial and is dry-hopped with Centennial, Amarillo, Citra and Topaz. This hop assault creates a huge citrusy/piney flavor and aroma that leaps from a simple malt base composed of pale malt and a touch of Munich malt. Heavy Lifting finishes quite dry with lingering hop bitterness.”

You’ll be able to find out for yourself next week when six packs of 12-ounce cans begin showing up around town. Kegs should arrive in the metro in late April.

As for cans of other Boulevard beers (Ginger Lemon Radler, Unfiltered Wheat, Pop-Up Session IPA), they’ll arrive sometime after Heavy Lifting’s release.

Danner will be on Bob Fescoe’s 610 Sports show to discuss the new beer at 9:30 a.m. Click here for the live stream
