Bristol Palin was going to get $20,000 to speak about abstinence

Soak this in for a second: Bristol Palin was going to be paid $20,000 to speak about abstinence at Washington University in St. Louis. That’s $20K for maybe a couple of hours of talking about a subject that she may preach but certainly didn’t practice.

Palin, of course, is the daughter of 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. She gave birth to her first child at age 18 and is now a single mother. Student leaders had offered Palin five figures to be the keynote

speaker at the school’s annual “Sex Week.” But the Student Health Advisory Committee uninvited Palin after uproar from undergraduates at a student government meeting. (They’re framing the decision as 100 percent mutual with Palin.)
