Brews and Noodles

You’ve gotta love an event where someone hands you a 24-ounce “pounder” of PBR as soon as you waltz through the door. That’s part of the plan for Pabst Presents: A Spaghetti-Western Death Country Carnival at Knuckleheads (2715 Rochester, 816-483-1456). As if the name Death Carnival wasn’t enough reason to wrangle your ass down to the East Bottoms, five bands also are playing, including beloved locals the Grisly Hand and Adam Lee and the Dead Horse Sound Company. The Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash, from Austin, Texas, and Mountain Sprout, from Eureka Springs, Arkansas, will be there, too. So will Vaquero, a project focusing on spaghetti-western music and culture. Suck down PBR in the flickering light of spaghetti-western movies. (And get messy with spaghetti, which the kitchen serves up all night.) Stetsons and Wranglers are encouraged: The best-dressed man and woman win prizes.— Elke Mermis
