BPU Grand Jury Adjourns, Two Indictments Remain Sealed
By Justin Kendall
The grand jury investigating the Kansas City, Kansas, Board of Public Utilities has adjourned without handing down an indictment against the utility. However, two indictments issued by the grand jury will remain sealed until an arraignment hearing is held on the charges.
T.J. Reardon of Kansas City, Kansas, used a petition drive earlier this year to seat the grand jury, which investigated charges of mismanagement at the BPU. But prosecutors also used the grand jury to consider other criminal cases.
There’s no indication whether the two sealed indictments are related to the BPU or are connected to other criminal cases.
