Boulevardia festival returns Father’s Day weekend 2015

Boulevardia is coming back for the second round. Boulevard announced Monday that the three-day West Bottoms street festival would return Father’s Day weekend, June 19-21.

That’s good news, and it gets better. Taps and Tastes, the one-day craft beer fest, is also returning. Last year’s Taps and Tastes featured a killer lineup — Off Color, Jolly Pumpkin, Funkwerks, Side Project, Russian River, Pretty Things, among others — and a picturesque but cramped setting on the 12th Street viaduct. Maybe I’m being claustrophobic but I wasn’t a big fan of the Taps and Tastes location. So here’s hoping for a more open space for Boulevardia’s second act.

That said, I tried a lot of great beers at Taps and Tastes and had a lot of fun. No word yet on which breweries will be setting up at Boulevardia, but the press release announcing the festival’s return notes that the organizers are still “securing commitments from craft brewers from throughout the country for” Taps and Tastes as well as special tappings throughout the festival’s grounds.

The music lineup is also being ironed out. Last year’s headliner was Capital Cities.
